Alexandra's 8th B-day

I'm not posting in chronological order.  In an effort to catch up, I'll just post random blogs until I've covered everything

We broke the every other year b-day party rule this year since we were moving. Alexandra had a sleepover with her friends the week after her actual b-day. I never knew that 8 girls could be such a handful. It was an exhausting night but we made it through without too much drama.

The actual day of her b-day we ate at Red Robin. She does not like public attention and when they sang Happy B-day to her she looked like she was going to kill us all. One of her best friends randomly showed up her family and ended up seated at the table next to us. Fun times!

She wanted a homemade icecream cake with a peace sign
Decorating fabric "goodie" bags
All of her friends signed a pillowcase for her
In our church, children are baptized when the turn 8 and reach the age of accountability.   A separate post will follow on the baptism.

Other end of the school year fun

2nd grade class trip to Culvers

Bella and Mrs. Hellman
Xandy and Mrs. Wagner

Benjamin Stephenson House

Due to budget cuts a lot of field trips were cut last year (any out of district trips). Fortunately we were lucky to have any historic home/museum in town. It does a wonderful job of having different programs for each grade. The girls went every year with school but always learned something different. I got the "privelege" of going twice in one week this year between Katy and Xandy's class

Cassens Field Day and Goshen Olympics

Field Days are always fun but unfortunately the weather got a little mixed up this year. Cassens Field day only had one water event and the day was sunny and very HOT!! Goshen Olmypics was mostly water events and it was overcast and chilly. It was supposed to be an all day event but the decision was made to watch a movie in the gym with popcorn after lunch. Most of the kindergartners had ended up inside they were shivering so bad. The 1st and 2nd graders were trying to tough it out but many lips were turning various shades of blue.
