Jacob

Jacob was getting annoyed that those last few posts were all about the girls, so here's one for him
A park down the street from the fitness center in Chesterton that I teach at
Fishing in the back yard with Daddy
There are only 3 houses on our street.  These are the backs of the other two houses
Waiting at the bus stop for the girls to leave for school
Jacob played T-ball for the first time this summer.  It was through the YMCA so it was very laid back adn not very time consuming (which is just the way I like t-ball).  He only had about 6 other kids on his team.  He lucked out and was the white team.  Most of the games were sweltering hot.  In fact he played several games less than he was supposed to because they were the 2nd part of double headers that were cancelled after the 1st game due to heat.  I felt bad for the kids in darker colors!

School activities

(These are still pictures from last school year). The girls' school had a spirit week.

80s day (Alenna, Xandy, Katy, and Bella)
Freaky day- I wasn't sure what that meant but the girls raided the halloween bins
Nerd day- we had some fun with this one
They also had a TV turnoff week.  There were activities all through the week sponsored by the school.  We weren't able to make all of them, but we did do Zumba after school!
Katy and one of her twin friends (I think she is Madelyn but it might be Sidney)
Bella Bina
Xandy and some of her friends
Xandy had to make an inventions out of items in a paper bag her teacher gave her.  Can I just say I HATE this kind of project.  She was struggling, and I'm like the least creative person around.  Jared said he thought the teacher was just trying to find a good idea to take to one of those reality tv invention shows.  It was allowed to be a family project but we were coming up emptyhanded.  She ended up calling Mima and Pop-pop who were able to throw out some ideas.  She picked one then altered it from there.  The finished product is a swiveling two-tiered candy dish with spoons to scoop your candy.

Happy 7th Bella

She's 1/2 way to 8 and I'm just now posting these, but better late than never....(I seem to be saying that a lot lately with regards to pictures).  She wanted the same cake that she decorated for school so I had to try to recreate a similar look to hers.

She mostly got clothes, but then again, she is a girl and that was exciting

Stake Activity Day

The girls went to a stake activity day. They had a lot of fun, especially making and racing the sailboats.

Cake decorating

The girls had a school carnival with a cake/cupcake decorating contest. They looked at ideas online and each picked what they wanted to do. The baked their own cakes/ cupcakes. I helped very minimally. Since it was a contest I felt it only fair that they do the project without much help from mom. They had a lot of fun decorating them.  They didn't win and were a little disappointed.  The girl who one first place was in 1st grade and her cake was a zoo full of animals made out of fondant.  There is no way that little girl made those. animals.   I thought it was unfair to award someone 1st place who obviously didn't decorate the cake.   There were some very cute cakes entered, that you could tell were decorated by kids, that should've won.

Learning Fairs and Lost Teeth

Bella participated in the school's learning fair last year.  She did her report on Panda Bears.  She typed the info up all by herself.  She was glad to be stationed next to our neighbor (and her best friend) Alenna

Bella also lost her first tooth last winter.  As tradition, the toothfairy left a fairy tooth holder and a silver dollar for the first lost tooth.  Hmm...wonder what Jacob will get.  The fairy holders are a little too girly.
