Buchkovich Reunion

We're back from our 2 1/2 week vacation which means I'm way behind on blogging and have lots of pictures and stories to document. We drove to my mom's on Friday. Saturday morning, after some sleep and Mima in the car for re-inforcement, we drove the rest of the way to my Grandma's house. The reunion is held down the street at the "homestead". A house that my great-grandparents lived in that is now owned by one of my great-uncles children. The reunion has been held there for ages, always on the second week-end in July. There is an annual soft-ball game, egg toss, and waterballoon toss. A volleyball game or two usually springs up also. In the evening there is a bonfire complete with the singing of "campfire" songs. In recent years, there has been the addition of fireworks to the tradition. We all usually eat way too much food and consume too many soft drinks but whether rain or shine, and good time is had by all. Its fun to watch a new generation of cousins develop friendships.
